P200-SX Facility Commissioning & Baseline Testing

Commissioned · 2025

Commissioned the original instrumented JetCat P200-SX facility at CERC: engine telemetry, thermocouples, pressure transducers, a load cell, fuel metering, an ECOM J2KN Pro on the undiluted line and dedicated NOₓ, CO and CO₂ analysers on the diluted line. Verified ventilation and CO-alarm response, designed the first exhaust ducting and wrote the engine-test SOP.

\[M_e=\sqrt{\frac{2}{\gamma-1}\left[\left(\frac{p_{0}}{p_e}\right)^{\frac{\gamma-1}{\gamma}}-1\right]},\qquad u_e=M_e\sqrt{\gamma R T_e}\]

Nozzle-exit Mach number and velocity from the measured total and static pressures, used with stoichiometry to derive mass flows, AFR and \(\phi\).

Result
Thrust matched the manufacturer’s specification, about 200 N at 112,000 rpm, with a clean cubic thrust–speed fit (\(R^2=0.998\)). Exhaust stayed subsonic at every point, and the engine ran lean throughout (\(\phi\approx0.2\text{–}0.3\)).
